The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) 101st Club Championship will reach its quarter final stage with eight matches on the cards in the Gents quarter-final stage.
First tee-off will be at 12 noon today.
The pick of the two quarter finals are the one between Nirekh Tejwani vs Viran Perera and Reshan Algama vs Suahyb Sangani. Reshan, the 14-year-old who will be the youngest in the Gents event, reached the quarter-final stage last year, shocking some big names when he was just 13 years of age. Ever green golfers, Sachin de Silva and Amrith de Soysa too are expected to move forward to the semi-final encounters.
The top 16 produced some solid golf top seeds Sachin De Silva, Rusi Captain and Amrith De Soysa qualified in the first half with Nirek Tejwani a junior and a talented golfer finishing on top of the ladder.
Reshan Algama the youngest who gave an impressive fight to Rusi Captain (last year runner up) in the pre-quarter is the youngest at 14 years to be in the elite 16 players who will now play the match play pre-quarter and beyond.
The Ladies Club Silver quarter finals will take place on 26 August while the Ladies Browns quarter finals will take place today in the afternoon at RCGC course.
The semi-final stage will take place on 27 August with the finals on the following day.
