The 103rd Trinity and Antonians cricket encounter which was scheduled for 15 and 16 May was postponed due to the current health conditions in the country. This encounter was to be played at Katugastota, and last year’s encounter too was unable to take place due to COVID-19.
Out of the 102 matches played, Trinity College won 23 with Antonians winning 11 of them with 68 of them ending in draws. In this series matches were not played in 1956 and 1957 (due to age rule dispute), in 2001 the match was not played as Trinity stopped mid-way during that season. The 2020 encounter could not take place due to the coronavirus.
The last Antonians win was in 1992 under Umesh De Alwis while Trinity won last in 2012 under Niroshan Dickwella. Trinity is led by Abishek Anandakumar while Antonians are led by Mohamed Kamil.
