A total of 32 matches has been scheduled to be replayed in the SLC Major T20 inter-club tournament due to these matches being washed out by rain during the past weeks.
The rescheduled matches commence tomorrow with a card of two matches at the NCC grounds – Galle CC v Kalutara TC and Badureliya SC v Lankan CC.
The matches will be continued on 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13 June after which the four group leaders will qualify to play in the semi-finals. The semi-finals are scheduled for 15 June at the P Sara Oval, and the final for 17 June at the same venue.
Tournament Committee Chairman Samantha Dodanwela said that the main objective of playing the tournament was to identify players for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Player Draft. In this aspect, due to the bad weather, the wash out of several matches did not fulfil the purpose and therefore resulted in the rescheduling of the matches.
