39 contracted cricketers go into residential training at Dambulla, Colombo

A squad of 39 cricketers representing the contract categories of ‘Senior’, ‘A’ team and ‘Emerging’, who have signed their annual contracts for 2021-22 have gone into training in a bio-bubble of two separate groups in Dambulla and in Colombo in preparation for the upcoming inbound and outbound tours, states a Sri Lanka Cricket media release.

Accordingly, 26 players are undergoing Residential Training at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium from 25 June till 22 July, whilst another 13-member group will start training from today at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo till 10 July.

The squad training at Dambulla: Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, Sangeeth Cooray, Sadeera Samarawickrema, Kamil Mishara, Minod Bhanuka, Kamindu Mendis, Suminda Lakshan, Dilshan Madushanka, Mohammed Shiraz (‘A’ team)

Nipun Dhananjaya, Saminda Fernando, Shammu Ashan, Sahan Arachchige, Udith Madushan, Kalana Perera, Nimesh Vimukthi, Mahesh Theekshana, Nuwanidu Fernando, Chamika Gunasekera, Nuwan Thushara, Ashen Daniel, Himesh Ramanayake, Lahiru Samarakoon, Lasith Abeyratne and Pulina Tharanga (Emerging).

The squad that will commence training in Colombo (Senior category): Dilshan Munaweera, Sandun Weerakkody, Angelo Perera, Ashan Priyanjan, Roshen Silva, Asela Gunaratne, Chathuranga de Silva, Lahiru Madushanka, Milinda Siriwardena, Lahiru Gamage, Jefferey Vandersay, Prabath Jayasuriya and Malinda Pushpakumara.
