3M Health Care lends support for Mahanama Cricket Clinic

The Millenium batch of Mahanama College recently conducted a Cricket Coaching Clinic in collaboration with 3M with the aim of enhancing the overall Cricket standards of Mahanama College. The event was held at CH & FC Grounds, Colombo 07.



The program was designed to identify and provide budding young cricketers of Mahanama College with training for advanced techniques and skills related to batting, bowling, and fielding in order to will help them become more proficient all-round Cricketers. Nearly 150 students were selected to participate in the event.

3M Lanka Ltd provided support as first-aid sponsors for the event. “3M is one of the largest producers of medical and surgical products globally, and we believe in contributing and lending our expertise towards events of this nature as we are able to add value through our wide range of health care offerings” notes Sanjaya Rekawa, Division Manager – Health Care at 3M.

The elite panel of coaches for the Cricket Clinic consisted of Hashan Thilakarathne, Naveed Nawaz, Raveendra Pushpakumara, Manoj Abeywickrama, Upul Chandana, Sujeewa De Silva, Thilina Thushara Mirando and Damith Mapa. Mahanama College has thus far excelled mainly in sports such as Rugby, Basketball and Athletics. “The school has also produced cricket stars Dhanushka Gunethilake who represented Sri Lanka A Cricket Team recently and Thissakuttige in the Under 19 Sri Lanka Cricket Team” notes a representative from the Mahanama College OBA.

“The OBA Millennium batch of Mahanama College is very keen to make this an annual event so that we can contribute towards improving the standard of this sport, and we are grateful to 3M for coming on-board to support events such as this.”
