4-man team appointed to probe Aroos

Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday announced that a four-member committee has been appointed to probe allegations against Women’s Team Manager A.R.M. Aroos. The committee comprises of R.J. De Silva – Chairman, Kalinga Indatissa PC, Kapila Liyanagamage and Chinthaka Rankothge  (Prosecuting Officer).  “The Committee will meet as soon as possible for a formal inquiry,” SLC said. Early this week Aroos stepped down pending a disciplinary inquiry against alleged bribery. Based on a complaint made by the Women’s Cricket Captain to the CEO of SLC, a preliminary inquiry was held by Hemachandra Dias, former Senior Superintendent of Police.  In the report it was recommended to hold a formal disciplinary inquiry against Aroos. The four-man committee will forward their report to the SLC Disciplinary Committee following the inquiry.
