Ian Tait won the Mark Bostock Memorial Golf Championship while Niloo Jayatilake won the Ladies’ Gross Competition, at the annual golf championship organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort, worked off at the Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella.
Tait scored a nett total of 70 in two rounds to lift the cup for the first time. Over 70 foreign and local golfers took part in the event.
Niloo Jayatilleke was in top form once again, winning the marquee event for ladies by defeating Suwen Selvaratnam by four shots. Jayatilleke made 48 points to 44 by Suwen Selvaratnam. Jayatilleke also won the award for the Longest Drive in the ladies’ bracket.
The Ken Balendra Trophy for the Best Gross Score over the two rounds was won by Nimal Wettimuni. Louise Parsons continued the winning streak with her when she won the Aislaby Plate for the Best Nett Score on the first day.
