43rd Travel Trade Sports Club Softball Cricket Sixes returns after four-year hiatus

69 men’s teams and 18 women’s teams have attracted the 43rd Travel Trade Sports Club Softball Cricket Sixes 2024, sponsored for the 19th year by Aitken Spence Travels, which will be held this Sunday 6 October simultaneously at the Shalika Grounds and D.S. Senanayake College Grounds, commencing 7:45 a.m.

The 69 men’s teams, pooled in to 23 groups of three teams each, will first compete in a league and then a knockout round on five pitches across both venues. The 18 women’s teams will play a knock-out competition on one pitch at the Shalika Grounds only. 

The tournament is revived after a lapse of four years, last held on 24 November 2019, at the Steel Corporation Grounds, Athurugiriya, where 43 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams participated. Blue Water, Wadduwa retained the men’s titleby defeating Sri Lankan Airlines, while Amaya Lake, Dambulla retained the women’s title, beating Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
