52nd Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2024 kicks off today with 22 teams

The much looked forward Mastercard sponsored 52 Mercantile Rugby Sevens organised and conducted by Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA) will kick off today at CR and FC ground in Longdon Place.

The two day event is expecting a full house on day 2 on 28 September as majority of the leading club players are tipped to feature in the shorter version of the game.

There will be six teams playing in two groups of each consisting of three teams will lock horns in the Cup and Bowl tournament while in the Shield encounter there would be 16 teams playing in 4 groups.

Cup/Bowl

Group A: JKH A, CDB, Brandix

Group B: JKH B, Pearl Beach and Sampath Bank Shield

Group C: MAS A, Mercantile Investment, HSBC, Galle Face Hotel

Group D: Ceylinco, NTB, LOLC, Central Finance

Group E: Commercial Credit, Hela Clothing, Commercial Bank, Moresand

Group F: MAS B, LSE, Foresight, HNB
