Six wins Vidyartha hold the edge over Sylvester’s who won none this season in their 61st encounter which will be played at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium on 8 and 9 March.
Manoharan Pavitran will lead the Sylvestrians while Vidyartha will be led by Isuru Probodhya.
Isuru Prabodha scored a brisk 76 against the Randles hill school but the rest of the season was in poor form given his high standards.
Others in the Vidyartha outfit are Kasun Karunathilake (all-rounder), Chathuranga Dilshan and wicketkeeper Kavishka Tennekoon who has scored well for the Kandy school this season.
Bowlers Duminda Imantha, Ishan Sangeeth and Aditya Bandara stood out in the bowling department. Medunaka Wijethilake (800), Usuru Proboda (550) and Kavishka Kalhara (500) lead the run scoring this season while in bowling Medunaka Wijethilake leads with 66 wickets.
Pavithran has played well for Sylvester’s with a fine 92 against Mahanama being his highest. He is supported by Kevin Nimshan and Chandula Jayakody.
Bowling department is headed by Nadeera Balasuriya the off spinner is a deadly spinner for which many batsmen got out this season. He is supported by Pasan Hettiarachchi.
