The 84th Annual Battle of the Saints between St. Joseph’s College and St. Peter’s College ended in a draw on 3 March at the P. Sara Stadium.
Batting first, St. Joseph’s College was all out for 195 with Captain Jehan Daniel scoring 93 and Sachin Silva taking 3 for 24. St. Peter’s replied with a score of 244 all out. Shalith Fernando top-scored with 58 while Ranmith Jayasena scored 55. Lakshan Gamage took 4 for 62.
In their second innings St. Joseph’s declared at 237 for 8 after being 142 for six. Dineth Jayakody scored an unbeaten 55. In their second innings St. Peter’s was 57 for one with the match coming to an end with about four overs remaining.

With the conclusion of the big match, St. Joseph’s College remained undefeated this season.
The current big match tally stands at 12 wins for St. Joseph’s and 10 for St. Peter’s with the remaining matches ending in a draw.
Both captains represented Sri Lanka at the recently concluded Under 19 World Cup, with Jehan Daniel being the Vice Captain of the side.
St. Joseph’s bagged the awards for Best Bowler, Best All-rounder and Man of Match, while St. Peter’s collected the awards for Best Batsman and Best Fielder.
