Fifteen-year-old, Reshan Algama, made his mark at the 86th Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) Club Championship at their club course in Nuwara Eliya.
Fresh off his recent triumph at the Royal Colombo Golf Club Championship, secured a remarkable double victory, cementing his status as a rising star in the golfing world. In an electrifying showdown, Reshan Algama demonstrated his exceptional talent and nerves of steel, narrowly edging out seasoned champion Sachin De Silva by a single stroke.
Dhanushi Senadhira›s dominant performance in the Ladies› main event at the NEGC Club Championship while Maleena Awn ended as the second best.
A remarkable highlight of this year›s championship was the presence of the youngest golfer, Keshav Algama, aged just 13. Local boy, Imran Nazeer too stood out at his home course in the Hill Country though could not take away any trophies on offer. Meanwhile, another junior golfer, Jevahn Sathasivam accounted for the Ogilvy Cup with Nayana Dehigama keeping his hands on the Graeme Sinclair Cup.
