AIBL and Pearl Bay sponsor Sri Lanka’s first T10 tournament

Assetline Insurance Brokers Ltd. (AIBL) and Pearl Bay have joined forces to sponsor Sri Lanka’s inaugural T10 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA).

AIBL, the insurance broking arm of the David Pieris Group of Companies, in collaboration with Pearl Bay, the flagship facility of David Pieris Leisure Ltd., are committed to promoting sportsmanship and providing cricket fans with more opportunities to both play and witness the game.

The tournament announcement and the presentation of the sponsorship cheque took place recently at a media conference held by the MCA.

Speaking at the media conference, AIBL Chairperson and David Pieris Motor Company Ltd. Director Romany Parakrama said: “This is the first T10 cricket tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. It is also the fastest form of cricket, providing high entertainment value for spectators. These attributes resonate deeply with AIBL’s commitment to swift insurance cover delivery through “ClicktoInsure” and Pearl Bay’s dedication to offering fast-paced entertainment and excitement.”

Parakrama also urged Sri Lanka’s corporate and commercial entities to actively participate in sports and contribute to the development of cricket, highlighting the David Pieris Group’s genuine commitment to the advancement of sports.

Sixteen teams from the mercantile sector, including Recovery Room, Powerhand Plantations, Peoples Leasing Co., Ansell Textiles, George Steuarts Health, Emar Pharma, Certis Lanka, Softlogic Life, Citizens Development Business Finance (CDB), David Pieris Group of Companies, Dialog Axiata PLC, Hilton Colombo Residencies, Seylan Bank, Astron Lanka, and LOLC and Maliban Biscuits, will participate in this historic tournament.
