Sri Lanka Junior golfers, Reshan Algama and Kaya Daluwatte ended day 2 of the event on a commanding position aiming at top 3 finish at the APGC Junior Championship, hosted at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club yesterday.
Today is the third and final day of the event.
Played among some cream of Asian Junior golfers, South Korea currently leads the team standings, securing both 1st and 2nd positions, while Thailand was in number 3 followed by Hong Kong China at number 4. With just a few strokes separating the Sri Lankan team from the top spots they are on number 5. A strong performance on the final day could see them secure a top 3 finish.
Reshan Algama showed top splendid form once again, carding one-over-par round yesterday. Currently, he is placed at number 4 with a score of 142. He remains just two strokes behind B Teerwat (Thailand), who leads the field at 140. A top 3 finish is a possibility if the day 3 goes on well for Reshan Algama.
Meanwhile Kaya Daluwatta delivered a consistent performance with a one-over-par round, placing her in 7th with a score of 147. Although the leader L.Arianna, is out in front with a commanding 133, which put the Sri Lankan youngster 14 strokes behind, she remains focused on achieving a top 5 finish, which could be a commendable accomplishment to make the difference in the team performance in the end.
