Sri Lanka sealed a record-breaking overall third place in the recently concluded ‘2024 Asian Rowing Indoor Championships’ (ARICH), the biggest indoor rowing event in Asia, held at the Straits Quay Retail Marina in Penang, Malaysia.

The male and female teams of Sri Lanka successfully secured 10 Gold, eight Silver and seven Bronze medals, marking Sri Lanka’s highest number of medals clinched at an international rowing competition, thus far. ATG Group of Companies, a leading glove manufacturer in the world, proudly sponsored our teams at this year’s tournament.

For 30 years, ATG Group of Companies has been on a mission to create a legacy of support for local athletes while inspiring the next generation of champions. As an active advocate for sports and athletic development across a multitude of disciplines, ATG’s sponsorship for the national rowing teams includes providing high-quality sports jerseys. This marks yet another milestone in which ATG ensures its commitment to elevating the sports talents of Sri Lanka.

Hosted by the Malaysian Rowing Association and Penang Rowing Association in collaboration with the Asian Rowing Federation, the 2024 Asian Rowing Indoor Championships was held from 9 to 11 August. It opened doors to international athletes between the ages of 4-60 years to participate in rowing events under a varied number of age and distance categories dedicated to both men and women.

The Sri Lankan rowing teams were comprised of members from the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL). Each individual was selected through rigorous qualification criteria. These talented individuals have been gaining significant recognition in the international arena during the past couple of years, marking a significant turning point for the country’s rowing potential.

ATG has previously supported provincial as well as national-level sports teams in the disciplines of rugby, cricket, chess, football, netball, volleyball, swimming, and several more to achieve significant continued success in their respective passions.
