When Ace Capital CC met Moors SC in the first round, Moors SC rattled up 329 courtesy of an aggressive 94 off 100 balls from the Captain Janishka Perera and dismissed Ace Capital CC for 227 with Rupasinghe scalping four. Ace Capital CC will be quite aware of where they went wrong in this game and come prepared to counter whatever Moors SC have in store for them.
In the semi-finals Ace Capital CC beat Colts in the first innings while the Moors SC v Ragama CC game ended in a no-result. Moors SC with a better record in the league stage qualified for the final. One pleasing aspect for Ace Capital CC is that their Captain Wanuja Sahan struck a splendid 115* off 86 balls to guide them to victory. Moors SC will welcome the return of their Captain Janishka Perera after his short stint in South African franchise cricket. – [ST]
