Chilaw Marians CC couldn’t make much headway in their SLC Major Club 3-day match against Ace Capital CC at the CCC grounds yesterday and easily conceded first innings points.

Resuming from 223-8 in reply to Ace Capital CC’s first innings of 324, Chilaw Marians CC added only five runs before they were dismissed for 228 with spinners Roshan Jayatissa and Wanuja Sahan taking 8 wickets between them.

With a first innings lead of 96 Ace Capital CC scored 163 in their second innings leaving Chilaw Marians CC a winning target of 260 to chase. Chilaw Marians CC finished on 143-4 when bad light ended play.
