The Scanwell Junior Trophy 2024 showed some impressive talent and high class golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Course recently with Anandian school boy, Adithya Weerasinghe accounting for the Top Gold segment.
Thejas Rathis Kanth accounted for the Silver while Lavindu Premarathne took away the Bronze. Yuvan Rathis Kanth won the Copper on offer for the Under 10 segment.
In the Gold Division (ages 15–18), Adithya Weerasinghe claimed the top spot with an impressive gross score of 76. Close behind were Nidushka Bandaranayake and Jacobs Norton both scoring 78, with Bandaranayake winning second place on a better back-nine score.
The Silver Division (ages 13–14) saw talented Thejas Rathis Kanth dominate with a top class effort with a score of 73, securing first place ahead of Kaiyan Johnpillai, who scored 77.
In the Bronze Division (ages 11–12), Lavidu Premaratne emerged victorious with a score of 57 over 14 holes, followed by Revaan Amarasinghe at 65.
Meanwhile, Yuvan Rathis Kanth topped the Copper Division (10 and under) with a fantastic 31 over 9 holes, edging out Jaeden Sathasivam who finished just one stroke behind.
