Afghanistan cricketers arrived in Sri Lanka Thursday for a three-match ODI series against Pakistan
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said that the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has decided to host its ODI home series against Pakistan in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the 3-match ODI series will be held in Hambantota and in Colombo.
“We are extremely happy that ACB decided to select Sri Lanka as its venue to host this series, which shows the confidence and trust Sri Lanka Cricket has gained in the cricketing world as a dependable host. We assure both teams we will be provided a secure environment to conduct this series,” said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva.The first two ODIs are scheduled to be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota on 22 and 24 August and the third in Colombo at a venue to be finalised.
The Afghanistan cricket team arrived in Sri Lanka Thursday morning.
In 2002, Sri Lanka was the venue for the first Test between Australia and Pakistan which was played at the P Sara Oval. The second and third Tests were played in Sharjah.
