Sri Lanka Air Force edged out Sri Lanka Army by 27 points (3 tries, 1 conversion, 1 penalty, 1 penalty try) to 20 points (3 tries, 1 conversion, 1 penalty) in their Nippon Paint Rugby League Plate encounter which concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

At the short breather winners led 15/8.

The game was fast paced and plenty of open rugby from both the forces outfits. Air Force player Prakrama Ratanayake was in a supreme class scoring a hat trick of tries for his team. Skipper. Nuwan Perera put a penalty and was successful in a try conversion while their other try was a penalty try.

Meanwhile for the losers their tries were scored by Lasantha Kumara, Mohamed Akram and Dilshara Kodagoda. Chathuranga Perera was on target with 1 try conversion and 1 penalty. Referee for the game was Gihan Yatawara.

CR and FC will host Sri Lanka Navy SC in their Plate encounter today at Longdon Place. This game will be the last game for Navy SC player and former Thomian skipper Yoshitha Rajapaksa who will retiring from his playing career of 15 years.

Referee for the game was Aaqil Jamaldeen. There will be two games down for decision on 3 April in the Cup segment.
