Air Force recognise its sports personalities

Sri Lanka Air Force felicitated all leading sports personalities who did well in their respective field in 2020. Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, who is also the Air Force Sports Council President, was the Chief Guest at the event which took place at the Sri Lanka Air Force headquarters in Colombo.

In defence services and National Sports Festival, athletes were felicitated under the segment of athletics (Men’s), archery (Women’s), badminton (Women’s), golf (Men’s) and squash (Men’s).

Athlete and leading Aircraftman M. Shivarajan won the gold medal at the marathon event of the National Sports Festival – the highest award at the night – while the men’s golf, women’s and men’s badminton teams and women’s archery teams, were awarded for their fine performances in 2020. (SJ)
