Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa was appointed as a member of the National Sports Council (NSC) with effective from 2 August 2023.

NSC comprises experienced professionals from multiple fields, who have consistently worked throughout their careers to restore and revitalise a strong sports culture both locally and globally. The respective appointment encompasses to provide assistance and guidance in uplifting the standards of Sri Lankan Sports, formulating policies and developing sports-related infrastructure.
