The much awaited Inter-Club Rugby Sevens will be worked off on 29-30 June at the Racecourse rugby ground.

Kick-off is scheduled at 8.30 am both days.

At the last event in 2018, Kandy SC and CR&FC won one leg each, but CH&FC who participated at both events was awarded with the winning trophy on the aggregate of points, which was higher than Kandy SC and CR&FC, who opted out one of the events due to injury to their players.

Malay CC, Peterson RFC, and Galle RFC will be making their debut at the Inter-Club Sevens this year. This event will be used as a yardstick in order to select the initial sevens pool for the preparation for the Asian Sevens 2019, which will be worked off in South Korea, China and Sri Lanka in 2 months.Kandy SC will be led by Nigel Ratwatte, while CH & FC will see Rohitha Rajapaksa taking charge. Both teams are hot favoured teams to pull it off this year’s event.
