Alliance Finance Brand Ambassador Sachin creates history at Commonwealth Games

Alliance Finance Brand Ambassador Sachin Dias and his partner Buwaneka Gunathilaka became the first and only Sri Lankans to create history in badminton at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. After many intense and strenuous matches against the best competitors from the Commonwealth countries, we are proud to announce that the Alliance Finance Brand Ambassador to the XXI Commonwealth Games finished with a 4th place ranking after losing their bronze medal play-off to the Malaysian duo of Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan 21/8 and 21/13.

No Sri Lankan has ever come this far in the Men’s Doubles event at the prestigious Commonwealth Games, the furthest being ranked at 32 back at the 2014 Glasgow Games.
