Allianz, Fairfirst to battle for MCA “F” division 25 Over League crown

Allianz Insurance will seek sweet revenge when they confront unbeaten, Fairfirst Insurance in Final, of the 02nd Fairfirst Insurance Trophy – MCA “F” division 25 Over League Tournament 2019, this Saturday, 20 July, at the MCA Grounds commencing 10 am.

The finalist played in the same group in the league stage and Fairfirst Insurance beat Allianz Insurance by 01 run on 15 June at the MCA Grounds. 

Fairfirst Insurance finished on top of Group “A”, whilst Allianz Insurance finished 04th.

Fairfirst Insurance unbeaten path to the Final: beat McLarens by 05 wkts, MAS Kreeda by 07 runs on the DLS method, Softlogic Life by 06 wkts, Asia Capital by 07 wkts, Allianz Insurance by 01 run, & HSBC by 60 runs in the league stage; beat Janashakthi Life by 05 wkts in Pre-quarter Finals, Associated Motorways by 06 wickets in the quarter – finals and McLarens group by 07 wickets in the Semi Finals.

The top performers for Fairfirst Insurance are, skipper and opening batsman, Lakshan Perera, centurion, Duleep Manjula Silva (171 runs with 01 half century), Asel Sigera (171 runs with 02 half centuries) and Chamika Deemantha Gunasekera (14 wickets for 83 runs).

Allianz Insurance path to the Final: lost to MAS Kreeda by 06 wickets, N/R Vs. McLarens, beat HSBC “C” by 117 runs & Softlogic Life by 75 runs, N/R Vs. Asia Capital and lost to Fairfirst Insurance by 01 run in the league stage; beat John Keells “C” by 03 wickets in Pre quarter finals, Brandix Essentials “B” by 25 runs in the Quarter Finals and Siam City Cement by 08 runs on DLS method in the Semi Finals.

The only noteworthy performer for Allianz Insurance is Sameera Pushpakumara Fernando (294 runs in 06 innings with 05 half centuries)
