Amana Takaful, Hayleys Group, “B” LOLC and Stafford Motors advanced to the Semi Finals, in the 20th David Pieris Group of Companies sponsored, “DPGC” Challenge Trophy – MCA “E” division 25-Over League Tournament 2023, winning their Quarter Finals, played last week-end, 28 and 29 January.
Week-end’s batting honours went to Hayleys Group “B” opening batsman Dimantha Kalugalage, who banged in a 71 ball 109 runs, inclusive of 6 sixes and 7 fours against Virtusa; the bowling honours was bagged by Ceylinco General Insurance Bawantha Jayasinghe, who captured 5 for 34 Vs. LOLC; Bawantha Jayasinghe top scored for Ceylinco Insurance with a gutsy 43-runs, but his all-round effort went in vain, as they lost to LOLC in the last ball by 02 wickets.
