The Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka hosted the 38th Senior, Intermediate, and Junior National Rowing Championship from 29 March to 1 April at the Diyawanna Rowing Centre. By winning Gold in 7 of the 10 events entered, Ananda College was declared the overall Junior National Rowing Champions. Ananda College received a total of seven Gold Medals, two Silver Medals, and one Bronze Medal.

This was the second consecutive year Ananda College has won the overall Junior National Rowing Championship. It was also the second consecutive year Ananda College won the Under-18 Quadruple Scull event with a record timing of 6 minutes and 41 seconds.

Ananda College also won Gold in the Under-16 Coxed Four event by defeating St. Thomas College and Royal College in a thrilling race.
