Anandian bowler takes all 10 wickets in an innings

Sri Lanka’s Under-17 Captain and second-year coloursman Kithma Vidanapathirana achieved the rare feat of taking all 10 wickets in an innings for Ananda College in their first xI inter-school cricket match against Zahira College, Colombo played at Zahira College grounds, Maradana.

Vidanapathirana, bowling his off-spin on a tantalising length, ended with figures of 16.2-6-29-10 as Zahira were bowled out for 131 in their first innings.Ananda replied with 169 to win the match in the first innings in the fifth traditional encounter played for the T.B. Jayah Memorial Trophy.

Zahira in their second innings was dismissed for 215, with Vidanapathirana adding a further three wickets (3/88) to take his match tally to 13/117.

Left with a target of 177 to chase, Ananda closed on 90-1.
