Angora Lions triumph Zahira College Colombo 2000 Batch annual cricket contest

The Zahira College Colombo Batch of 2000 last week held the annual cricket tournament ‘Battle of the Millennium’ with their batchmates at the Shalika Grounds, Colombo.

Eight teams participated in the event; namely, Angora Lions, Baghdad Bulls, Cordova Kings, Istanbul Warriors, Dhaka Riders, Delhi Royals, Kabul Lions and Cairo Challengers. In this tournament, Angora Lions team beat Cordowa Kings in the final.  Captain of the champion team Infaz Faleel received the champion trophy from Chief Guest Zahira College Past Cricketers Association ex-President Mazhar Zuhair. Also, runners-up team captain Mohamed Fahd, Best Bowler Mohamed Riyas (Angora Lions), Best Batsman Mohamed Nazeem (Cordowa Kings), and Man of the Final Mohamed Afshan (Angora Lions) received awards.

Batch of 2000 former President Salman Faris, Batch of 2000 President Mohamed Rilwan, Secretary Hazmil Hamdoon, Treasurer Hussain Wasik, Project Chairman Jaufer Sadik, and members were also present.
