Anika wins Women’s Open Singles at 105th Nationals

Number 1-ranked Anika Seneviratne of Ladies College won the Women’s Open Singles title at the 105th Nationals, beating Janali Manamperi 6/0 6/4.

This was her fifth Women’s Singles National title. She had won her third Clay Court Nationals title in September, as well as one Hard Court National title previously.

Anika has also won four National Doubles titles and five Mixed Doubles titles.

In the semifinals, Anika beat Savini Jayasooriya 6/1 7/6 (7/1); and Janali beat Hasali Gajaba 6/4 6/1. The tournament will continue at the SLTA this week.
