Annual Mercantile Hockey 9-a-Side today

The annual Mercantile Hockey 9-a-Side Tournament is back for its fourth edition, set to take place on Saturday, 26 October, at the newly laid Astro Turf in Colombo 7.

Hockey enthusiasts from the corporate sector are gearing up for a day of action-packed, high-intensity matches, showcasing the best talent across Sri Lanka’s mercantile sector.

This year’s participating teams are divided into four divisions:

A Division: Commercial Bank, Browns Group, Sampath Bank, MAS, and HNB A
B Division: Hayleys, HSBC, Seylan Bank, and John Keells
C Division: HNB B, Singer Sri Lanka, and NTB
D Division: DPMC, CIAP, Hemas, and Sampath B

Defending Champions are:

A Division: Commercial Bank
B Division: Browns Group
C Division: Seylan Bank
D Division: Sampath Bank B

This year’s tournament is sponsored by Swisstek Aluminium, while Baraka JointEase Spray joins as the official pain relief partner, ensuring all players can compete comfortably and safely.
