Another blow to Sri Lanka’s bowling resources as Thushara ruled out

Sri Lanka’s fast bowling line up for the three-match T20 International series against India starting at Pallekele on Saturday took another blow when slinger Nuwan Thushara was ruled out after suffering an injury to his left thumb while fielding during practices Wednesday night.

A medical report obtained shows a fracture on the player’s left thumb, states a Sri Lanka Cricket release.

Thushara’s place in Sri Lanka’s 16-member squad will be taken by Dilshan Madushanka.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera will miss the T20I series as he is still recovering from a bronchitis and respiratory infection. Chameera was replaced by Asitha Fernando.
