St Anthony’s College lived up to their expected high standard of rugby when they outclassed Kingswood College by 57 points (nine tries, six conversions) to seven points (one try, one conversion) at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium yesterday.
At the short breather Antonians led 24/0.
Antonians ran circles around Kingswood three quarter line with the Katugastota lads three quarter line and mobile set of forwards displayed top class rugby. Antonians though went down to Royal and Trinity they are not an outfit to be written off. They are all out to end the league on a high note and a team not to be taken lightly at the knockout tournament later next month.
For Antonians their skipper, Jeyan Amarasinghe, Tiron Mariyadas and Sahan Keerthsiri were outstanding in defence as well in attack. For the Randles Hill lads their skipper Randila Runaweera stood out.
Atnonians tries were scored by Tiron Mariyadas (3), Jeyan Amarasinghe (2), Sahan Keerthisiria, Saduka Athukorale, Maliksha Perera and Jude Realano. Keerthisiri was on target with six of the tries.
