Sri Lankan Amateur Golf Ranking Tournament saw consistent and impressive golf by Anura Rohana, the veteran golf professional, and Reshan Algama, a promising Sri Lankan junior golfer. Rohana ended the day with a commendable three-under-par round, putting his total score at 133. Algama followed closely with a two-under-par round, finishing with a total score of 138 and securing the third position on the leaderboard end of day 2 in the 4 day encounter at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
Although Algama fell just one shot behind Pro K. Prabakaran, who ended the day with 137, his stellar performance in the second round positions him as a strong contender. Algama’s five-shot lead over Haroon Aslam (143) and a solid seven-shot margin from seasoned amateur Chanaka Perera (145) further highlights his talent and potential in the sport.
Reshan Algama who is playing some top class golf for his tender age of 15 years Anura Rohana will need to draw upon his vast experience to hold onto his top position. The stage is set for an exhilarating battle between the 15-year-old sensation and the seasoned Pro. Amongst the Armatures Haroon Aslam and Chanaka Perera will need to some magic to get in to the top during the last two days.
