Soldiers showed their dominance in the Women’s Cup Inter-Club Sevens Rugby Tournament when they edged out the Sailors 19/10 in the final at Havelock Park.
National player, Dulani Pallikondange was in cracking form, scoring two superb tries for the winners in the later half. For her magnificent performance, she was judged as the Player of the Tournament.
The defending champions, Navy, settled for runner-ups. Meanwhile Air Force beat Army B 20 to nothing to secure the Plate while the Red Shirts beat Sabaragamuwa 48/7 to take away the Bowl.
The Shield was won by the Navy Development outfit, defeating Southern 36 to nothing.
SAGT, once again propped up by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), sponsored the Tournament. SAGT Chief Commercial Officer Ted Muttiah was the Chief Guest.
