Army Centre Prasanna Jayatunge avoids Sri Lion tackle

Army Sports Club registered their second win this season when they got the better of the debutants, Sri Lions Sports Club by 32 points (4 tries, 3 conversions, 2 penalties) to 15 points (3 tries) in their Mastercard Inter Club Rugby encounter, which concluded at Panagoda last evening.

At the short break, scores were deadlocked at 10 apiece.

Army scored their tries through Danushka Talwatte (2), Sudaraka Dikkumbura and Manoj Kumara. Isuru Medagedera took the conversions plus put over two penalties.

For Sri Lions their three tries were scored by Aiden Fernando, Kaveesha Iduranga and Denuwan Silva.

The game was refereed by Raveen Alexander. There was more good news for Army SC as their game against Police SC which was stopped half way when the Solders were leading 8/5 was awarded as a win for the home team. The results sheets show now the Army winning 2 games and losing only to Kandy SC.
