Arrest warrant issued against Upul Tharanga for failure to appear at court

The Matale High Court issued an arrest warrant against the Chairman of the Cricket Selection Committee and former Sri Lankan Captain Upul Tharanga yesterday.

The arrest warrant has reportedly been issued over failure to appear before the court pertaining to a match-fixing case during the 2024 Legends Cricket Tournament. 

However, the relevant case has been filed by Tharanga himself and he has left the country for the USA to play in a franchise tournament without informing the court in that regard.
