Asgiriya Stadium gets sprinkler irrigation system

The Asgiriya Stadium was in luck’s way when it was awarded a sprinkler irrigation system by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva recently.

Asgiriya Stadium, which hosted the first Test match way back in 1983 against the visiting Australian outfit, is admired by many leading cricketers. 

It lost its Test hosting with the Pallekelle International Cricket stadium coming in.

This donation was given to Old Trinitians Sports Club President Lakmal Tennekoon and his committee who handed over the funds for this needy project which will see many sports at Trinity College benefiting in the end.
