Sri Lanka is likely to host many events in the last quarter of 2020

Asia Rugby (AR) has postponed all the Men’s and Women’s tournaments scheduled for the third quarter in the Under 20 Sevens and Asian Sevens three leg events which were scheduled during the third quarter of 2020. The tournaments have been postponed to the last quarter of 2020.
This means all three of the Asian Sevens Men’s and Women’s events which were scheduled to take place in China, South Korea and Sri Lanka during August and September plus the Men’s and Women’s Under 20 Sevens, originally scheduled in Malaysia during August, will be played on a later date between October and December 2020. Sri Lanka is likely to bid for this event.
All the tournaments being likely to take place during the last three months of 2020 will put the Asia Rugby Sevens series three leg event, Under 20 Sevens and Under 20 Top 4 all in the last three-month period to be worked off in Asia. The famous Hong Kong Sevens which is in its 44th year too is likely to be postponed to the last quarter of 2020. Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) who selected the initial pool for the Asian Sevens and Fifteens is very likely to resume training on a later date due to the postponement.
