Sri Lanka under-23 football outfit will face Syria in the opening game in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Qualification tournament 2021, which will take place in Qatar today.
In the opening game of the tournament earlier in the day, hosts Qatar will meet Yemen.
Senior national players Mohamed Aqib and Dillon de Silva did not make it on the tour. The outfit is led by Sasanga Dilhara, with Asela Madushan assisting him. Sri Lanka under-23 outfit will be coached by former Zahirian cricketer cum soccer player Mohamed Amanulla.
