Sri Lanka women’s cricket team Captain Chamari Athapaththtu who is the second highest
run getter in the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) with 511 runs (avg. 42.58) with five fifties, will have to play a crucial role for Sydney Thunder when they take on Brisbane Heat in the Eliminator at Perth tomorrow (Tuesday).
Sydney Thunder finished the league round in fourth place with 15 points from 7 wins and 6 losses. Athapaththu has been their lynchpin with 511 runs and 9 wickets (avg. 25.55) with her off-breaks. She has so far won four Player of the Match awards and has a section of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) named after her called ‘Chamari Bay’.
