Aussie cricketers join in appeal for humanitarian aid for SL

The touring Australian cricketers have joined the appeal for humanitarian aid for Sri Lanka currently facing a severe economic crisis.

The cricketers have joined hands with the United Nations team in Sri Lanka and non-governmental organisations that launched a joint Humanitarian Needs and Priorities (HNP) Plan on Thursday.

The program calls for $ 47.2 million in humanitarian aid to provide life-saving assistance to Sri Lanka over a four-month period from June to September.

In a video message, Australian cricketers Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have issued messages raising awareness of Sri Lanka’s economic crisis.
