After two back to back defeats Bangladesh managed to pull one back by beating Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the third Under-19 Women’s T20 match played at Surrey Village, Maggona yesterday.
Match winner for Bangladesh was Fahomida Choya leading the Bangladesh run chase for 110 with a stroke-filled 38 off 42 balls (4 fours).
She was involved in two useful stands of 43 for the third wicket with Sadia Islam (24) and 33 for the fourth with Sumaiya Akter (14), after Bangladesh had faltered in their start losing two wickets for no runs in the opening over to Rashmika Sewwandi.
Sri Lanka who won the toss and batted first were tied down by some tight bowling by Bangladesh to a score of 109-6. They were at one stage 41-4.
The fourth and final match of the series will be played at BRC grounds today with Sri Lanka holding onto a 2-1 lead.
