Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 42 runs at Moratuwa
Bangladesh Under 19 cricketers ended their third match winning in tandem and ended as Group B leaders. Earlier they beat UAE and Nepal in their group encounters. Meanwhile Sri Lanka ended runners-up in the group beating both Nepal and UAE.
Batting first, the visitors totalled a healthy 273 for seven in their 50 overs, highlight of the innings being a sparkling century by Mahumudil Hasan Joy who stroked an elegant 126 off 136 deliveries. He was well supported by a half century (50) by Towhid Hridoy. Hasan Joy was also named Man of the Match for his fine knock.
In reply Sri Lanka ended on 231, never putting on a good partnership, losing regular wickets until coming up well short by the end. Hosts will now have to deal with India in one of the semi-final encounters.
