Best male and female athletes received Munchee Challenge Trophies at ISAC 2020

Munchee, the flagship brand of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (CBL), strengthened its support for the prestigious 20th annual International Schools’ Championships (ISAC) by awarding the Best Male and Female Athlete awards and extending its partnership as the principal sponsor for 2020. 

This year ISAC brought sporting talent to the surface as Shelinda Jansen from Gateway College Colombo emerged Best Female Athlete – 100 m with  a new meet record of 11.94 seconds and Sandun Kumara from Lyceum International School emerged as Best Male Athlete with yet another new meet record for Triple Jump with 15.44 m. 

The event was held on 14, 15 and 16 February at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo and attracted over 1,600 young athletes from 23 International Schools in the Island. 

Driven by the mission of supporting and enhancing the profile of local sports, the ISAC sponsorship was aimed at providing young athletes the right platform to shine forth, starting from the school level and building them up to reach their true potential at national level competitions. The Championship helped to nurture a strong skill pool of talented athletes who can help Sri Lanka to reach the next realm of sporting prowess.   

CBL General Manager Marketing Janmesh Paul Antony said: “We were excited to be part of ISAC once again and had no doubt that it will be a fine showcase of sporting performance and talent. It was interesting to see the progress of the athletes as well as the enthusiastic participation from all the schools concerned.”
