The Mercantile Hockey Association will be conducting its 42nd Annual Men's Seven-a-Side Tournament on 21 October from 8.00 a.m. onwards at the P. Saravanamuthu Grounds.
Peoples Leasing Plc, MAS Holdings, DHL and Hilton Colombowill jointly sponsor this prestigious event.
Teams will be participating in six separate divisions and the top Sri Lankan talent will displaytheir skills to bring honour to their respective establishments.
The Chief Guestfor the event will be Sri Lanka Army Adjutant GeneralMajor General Shavendra Silva.
The Guest of Honourfor the event will beDHL Business Development Marketing ManagerSajith Madhawa. The teams have been categorised as follows:
1. ‘A’ Division - Dennis De Rosayro Trophy donated By Janashakthi Insurance Plc
Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc ‘A’, HNB Group Plc ‘A’, MAS Holdings ‘A’ and Sampath Bank Plc ‘A’
Runner-up - Mercantile H.A. Trophy donated by a well-wisher
‘A’ Division - Dennis De Rosayro Fair Play Trophy donated by Idac Ltd.It will be contested by only ‘A’ Division teams. Identical styled replicas awarded to the winners.
2. ‘B’ Division - Singer Trophy

3. ‘C’ Division - Lifebuoy Trophy

The winners will be given the challenge trophies and 16 replicas.
The MHA will be also be awarding cups to the outstanding player in all six divisions.
The Mercantile Hockey Association will present cash awards to the winners from 'A' to 'F' divisions respectively in addition to the replicas.
