CH & FC continued their winning ways when they made a goodlate second half rally to beat Police SC 38/25 at the Police Park after trailing 18/14 at the short breather.
CH who maintains a clean record in their last six games secured number 3 position in the league which will be a major threat for Kandy SC and Havies in the remainder of the League though they cannot clinch the League due to the points difference is too huge.
Sachith Silva was accurate with a penalty kick but it was short lived as CH hit back through national sevens player,Hirantha Perera try and Maduwantha accurate in his kick at goal. Newlywed, Rohitha Rajapakse scored CH & FC’s second try. One more Sachintha Silva penalty for the Cops took the scores to 14/6 favouring the visitors. VageeshaWeerasinghe broke free and scored the first Police try. Police kept on attacking was awarded with a penalty try on stroke of half time to take the lead 18/14 at the short breather.
Maduwantha penalty and AnuradhaHerath one of the best picks this season scored his first try of the match to take the scores to 24/18. Rohitha’s wedding presence was on with his second try of the vening which took them clear at 31/18. But the Cops hit back through DanushkaEdriweera try and Sachintha Silva conversion. SudamSooriyarachchi the nippy scrum half put his name on the board with the last CH try. Maduwantha continued his top kicking form.
