CH & FC, bouncing back in round two, completed their second win in tandem when they outclassed CR & FC 33/10 to retain the Nizam Hadji Omar trophy.
CH completely dominated proceedings in this game where they could have piled up more than half a century. They failed to convert their good play into points during the initial half, but settled and rattled the Red Shirts in this game.
Reza Rafaideen scored first for CR, which was replied to by another Kandy boy, Samuel Maduwantha, turning out for CH & FC, who did find his accuracy in a penalty kick. Anuradha Herath, who had yet another brilliant outing, supported Nivaka Prasad to touch down for CH. Hirantha Perera scored next as another Samuel Maduwantha 50m penalty took them to the short breather at 16/5.
Nishon Perera and Anuradha Herath tries plus Maduwantha conversions took CH to 30/5. Maduwantha, who was in peak condition, kicked another beauty 45m away to take an unbeatable 33/5. CR had time for one consolation try through Rehan Silva.
