COMBank’s Rahula Ekanayake, DFCC’s Nipun Premaratne shine in MCA “C” division 50 –Over League

Commercial Bank’s middle order batsman Rahula Ekanayake and DFCC Bank’s left arm medium fast bowler Nipun Premaratne hogged the limelight, in the on-going National Development Bank (NDB) sponsored, MCA “C” division 50 –Over League Tournament 2023, continued on 29 June, 1 and 3 July.

Ekanayake hit the first century of the tournament, scoring 100 in 97 balls, inclusive of 02 sixes and 07 fours vs. Airport and Aviation Services.

Ekanayake was associated in a 140 runs stand in 151 balls for the 5th wicket with S. Kaushalya (94 in 94 balls, inclusive of 2 sixes and 9 fours) which helped to propel their score from 77 for 4 to 335 for 9 in 50 overs.

Premaratne finished with magnificent figures of 10-01-30-07, as he ripped through the Airport and Aviation batting, to get them all out for 77 runs in 25.1 overs.

The other noteworthy performances were by Commercial Bank “A”, Pasindu Denipitiya, who finished with impressive figures of 7.3 – 23- 05 Vs. DFCC Bank and R. Ratnayake from DFCC Bank who scored a fighting 93 runs against Commercial Bank .
