CR and FC holds felicitation ceremony for League champions

CR and FC, league Champions, felicitated its rugby outfit at a ceremony at the Club House in Longdon Place.

Players, coaching staff, support staff, honorary life members, past presidents, Rugby Board, sponsors and advertisers all were acknowledged.

The League winning XV a side outfit was led by Sohuru Anthony with Dushantha Lewke being the Head Coach of the outfit.

Former Joes and national sevens player, Gemunu Chetiya was appointed as the skipper of the Red Shirts for the 2024/2025 rugby season.

Chetiya played for Joes from 2015 to 2018 making his debut for the Longdon place club under Kavindu Perera in 2018. He represented the national sevens outfit at the Asian Sevens series in China and 19th Asian Games.

Gemunu will have star full back and former Wesley 2019 skipper, Mursheed Doray as his deputy. Mursheed played for Wesley from 2015 to 2019.
